Zootopia 2 Smashes China Box Office, Tops $104M in Two Days

Zootopia 2

Disney’s Zootopia 2 is crushing it in China. Fans can’t get enough. The movie just hit theaters and already pulled in over $104 million in only two days. That’s more than Avengers: Endgame made on its very first day there.

Deadline says this crazy start has experts guessing the film could end up with $525 million or more worldwide. That would make it one of the biggest animated movies of the year.

Saturday, November 29, was wild. Box office sales shot up 160% compared to Friday. People are clearly pumped.

The sequel is doing great overseas too. On Friday it topped the charts in almost every European country. Only the UK held out—Wicked: For Good still rules there.

Zootopia 2 now owns the biggest opening day for any animated film released in 2025. It’s also the third-highest opening ever for a Disney Animation movie. Only Frozen 2 and Moana did better.

The film had its fancy premiere at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles on November 13, 2025. It then opened wide across the U.S. on November 26.

Everyone you loved from the first movie is back. Ginnifer Goodwin voices Judy Hopps again. Jason Bateman returns as Nick Wilde. Shakira, Idris Elba, Alan Tudyk, Nate Torrence, Don Lake, Bonnie Hunt, and Jenny Slate all reprise their roles too.

China keeps lining up. Theaters keep selling out. Zootopia 2 is proving the bunny and the fox still have serious star power.
