The government has issued a notification reducing petroleum product prices.
Petrol is down by Rs 2 per litre. New price: Rs 263.45 per litre.
High-speed diesel drops by Rs 4.79 per litre. New price: Rs 279.65 per litre.
These rates will stay in place for the next 15 days.
The Finance Ministry says the cut comes because global oil prices fell and they’re keeping an eye on local economic conditions.
People are told to buy fuel at the new rates from their nearby pumps.
Officials say the government is working hard to keep energy products affordable for the public. This move is part of efforts to bring down inflation and ease the burden on people’s pockets.
These prices will go into effect from 12 am tonight.
