ChatGPT, the world’s most popular artificial intelligence (AI) assistant, is continuously being improved.
A new feature is now being added to the platform that users are likely to appreciate.
Under this feature, users will be able to lock chats containing sensitive information with a PIN code or fingerprint scan to prevent anyone else from accessing them.
The company announced the feature, saying it has been designed for people who share their devices with others.
The feature works much like WhatsApp’s Chat Lock, allowing users to secure sensitive or personal conversations with ChatGPT using a four-digit PIN, Face ID or Touch ID.
Once a chat is locked, it will no longer appear in the regular chat history, pinned chats or search results.
Users will be able to access these conversations through the Locked Chats folder in Projects.
ChatGPT already offers a Temporary Chat feature, in which the content disappears when the chat is closed and does not appear in the user’s ChatGPT account history.
However, locked chats will help users retain sensitive conversations for a longer period while restricting access to them.
According to the company, the rollout of this feature has begun, and it will gradually become available to subscribers of all plans, including Free, Go, Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu.
