The actress will soon appear as the younger version of Khushbakht in the drama Dar-e-Nijat.
Pakistani actress Sehar Hashmi has broken her silence on the problems faced by artists in the drama industry, questioning producers’ unprofessional behaviour.
Hashmi, who began her acting career with the drama serial Zulm, has gained prominence over the past two to three years. She received considerable appreciation following the success of Shedai, while her role as Shehr Bano in Zanjeerain also made her popular among fans. The actress will soon appear as the younger version of Khushbakht in the drama Dar-e-Nijat.
In an Instagram story, Sehar Hashmi raised the issue of delays in payments to artists. She said that if an artist is late by even one day, they are labelled unprofessional. However, when artists’ payments remain pending for months, the delay is dismissed as an accounting issue.
The actress’s remarks have sparked renewed debate in the showbiz industry over artists’ rights, professional conduct and the timely payment of their fees.
