Pakistan announces new e-Passport fees as application system changes

Web Desk: Pakistan has introduced a revised fee structure for e-Passports, with charges varying according to passport validity, number of pages and processing category.

The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has issued the updated schedule as changes to the passport application system take effect.

For a five-year e-Passport, applicants seeking the standard 36-page document will pay Rs9,000 under normal processing, while the 72-page version will cost Rs16,500.

Under the urgent processing category, the fee for a 36-page passport has been set at Rs15,000, while applicants requiring a 72-page passport will pay Rs27,000.

For passports valid for 10 years, the normal fee for a 36-page e-Passport stands at Rs13,500. The 72-page version will cost Rs24,750.

Meanwhile, urgent processing will cost Rs22,500 for a 36-page passport and Rs40,500 for a 72-page passport.

The revised schedule allows applicants to select their preferred passport validity period, page count and processing category according to their travel requirements.

The new structure means applicants seeking longer validity or additional pages will have to pay higher fees, while urgent processing carries a substantial premium over the normal service.
