Web Desk: A young girl who faced uncertainty after losing her father has turned adversity into achievement, progressing from Daanesh School in Hasilpur to King Edward Medical University and demonstrating how access to quality education can transform lives.
Dr Alina, who comes from a family of tailors, faced significant challenges following her father’s death. With her family struggling to cope with the loss, the cost of education and concerns about her future threatened to stand in the way of her ambitions.
However, Daanesh School in Hasilpur provided her with an opportunity to continue her studies in a supportive environment.
The institution, established under the educational vision of former Punjab chief minister and current Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, provided Alina with quality education and covered her accommodation, meals and educational expenses.
This support allowed her to focus on her studies despite the financial difficulties facing her family.
Her journey from a modest household to one of Pakistan’s prominent medical institutions highlights the role educational opportunities can play in helping talented students overcome economic and social barriers.
Speaking at a Daanesh School event, Alina expressed gratitude to Shehbaz Sharif and the institution for supporting her education and helping her achieve her ambitions.
She said the support she received through Daanesh School gave her many of the opportunities and facilities that a father would want to provide for his daughter.
Alina credited the institution with helping her realise her dream, describing its role in her life as a source of support during a difficult period.
Alina’s story illustrates how sustained educational support can help students from financially disadvantaged families pursue professional careers.
