Web Desk: Actor Gohar Rasheed has revealed that he initially turned down the television drama Case No. 9 before being persuaded to join the project by Saba Qamar.
Speaking on a Geo News podcast, Rasheed shared behind-the-scenes details about how the popular drama eventually won him over.
Rasheed said he declined the offer after first hearing the story of Case No. 9, explaining that the narrative presented to him at the outset did not convince him to take on the role.
However, the decision did not mark the end of the conversation.
According to Rasheed, lead actor Saba Qamar later contacted him directly and urged him to reconsider the project. She encouraged him to look more closely at the character and to discuss the drama with its director.
Taking her advice, Rasheed agreed to speak with director Wajahat Hussain.
Gohar Rasheed said his meeting with Hussain proved decisive. After listening to the director’s vision, he realised the story was different from what he had initially been told.
He added that the broader perspective helped him better understand the depth of the narrative and the role he was being offered.
As a result, Rasheed ultimately agreed to join Case No. 9, which went on to become one of Geo Television’s notable drama productions.
