A senior Pakistani actress Ismat Zaidi has openly spoken about the growing unprofessional behavior in the drama industry and the disrespect shown towards senior artists.
While speaking on a program, Ismat Zaidi said that the working system on drama sets has become extremely poor, where actors are made to work 12-hour or even longer shifts, and they are not informed in advance about when their scenes will be shot.
She added that often lead actors cancel shoots according to their own convenience, while other artists are not consulted about their availability or schedules.
Expressing disappointment, she said that everyone is forced to work according to the preferences of new stars.
Ismat Zaidi also shared a bitter experience, saying that when she spoke about unprofessional behavior on set, a director shouted at her in front of around 50 people. She said she was almost in tears, and no one stood up for her.
According to the senior actress, senior artists are respected all over the world, but here they are often treated disrespectfully. However, despite the pain, she fulfilled her professional responsibility and completed the shoot.
