Islamabad: Security forces killed a suspected militant and detained four others during a joint intelligence-based operation in Mamash Khel.
Operation Followed Fresh Intelligence
Authorities launched the operation after receiving intelligence on December 8 indicating militant activity in Mamash Khel and surrounding areas. According to security officials, the group was reportedly operating under the supervision of a man identified as Bukratullah, confirmed through both technical and human intelligence.
Suspect Killed While Attempting to Flee
The operation continued through the morning of December 12. Officials said commandos shot and killed Bukratullah as he attempted to flee, recovering an M4 rifle from the scene.
Weapons and Suspects Taken Into Custody
In addition to the killing, security personnel arrested four suspected individuals and seized a cache of weapons and equipment. The recoveries included:
- One M4 rifle
- Three submachine guns
- One shotgun
- One pistol
- Four grenades
- A Premio car carrying multiple license plates
- Binance IDs
- Cash amounting to Rs93,150
- Ammunition and magazines
- National identity cards, registers and SIM cards
Follow-Up Actions Underway
Officials said a follow-up operation is underway with the Counter Terrorism Department and police to seal an arms shop linked to one of the arrested suspects, identified as Aminullah. They added that additional searches are being carried out at other suspected locations in the area.
