Islamabad: Education departments across Pakistan have announced winter holidays for schools and colleges, with schedules varying by region and climate, officials said.
Balochistan Sets Extended Break
The Balochistan Education Department announced that schools in colder areas will remain closed from December 16 to February 28, 2026. Schools in warmer areas will observe a shorter break from December 22 to January 4, 2026.
Sindh Colleges to Close Late December
In Sindh, both public and private colleges will observe winter holidays from December 22 to December 31, 2025. The College Education Department issued an official notification directing all colleges to comply with the schedule. Officials noted that first- and second-year supplementary exams will proceed as scheduled during the break.
Punjab Schools to Take Three-Week Break
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat announced that schools in the province will close from December 22 to January 10, 2026, giving students a total of 23 days off, including weekends. The announcement was shared via the minister’s official social media channels.
