Lahore: Goods transporters called off their strike on Friday following successful negotiations with the Punjab government, officials said, easing disruptions across the province.

Senior Minister Leads Talks

Senior Punjab Minister Maryam Aurangzeb led discussions with transporter representatives, reaching an agreement to immediately end the strike. Transporters’ central president and other officials signed a conciliatory resolution, officials added.

The Punjab Chief Minister established a committee to resolve issues raised by transporters. The committee, chaired by Maryam Aurangzeb, includes transporter representatives and is set to hold a meeting on Friday to review ongoing concerns.
