Singapore has taken a new decision to deal with its continuously declining population, announcing that parents will receive $55,000 upon the birth of a child.
Singapore has announced that parents will be provided with financial assistance of $55,048 for every child born in the country until the child reaches the age of 17. The main purpose of Prime Minister Lawrence Wong’s announcement is to overcome the problem of the declining birth rate in the country.
According to Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, financial assistance is already being provided for the birth of every child in Singapore, and this depends on the order in which children are born in a family. However, for most people, it is very difficult to understand. To simplify this process, financial assistance will be provided to every child who holds Singaporean citizenship.
It should be noted that Singapore’s fertility rate has fallen to a record low of 0.87 births per woman, while 2.1 is considered normal globally.
According to the report, this package will be provided in five parts. Within 12 months after the birth of a child, parents will be given $7,880, equivalent to more than Rs2.158 million in Pakistani currency.
In the second stage, more than Rs6.985 million will be provided over a period of 16 years. During this stage, more than Rs436,000 will be given each year.
In the third stage, the government will provide more than Rs1.09 million through the Child Development Account.
In the fourth stage, each child will be provided with more than Rs1.09 million in their Child Development Account upon reaching the age of 16.
In the final stage, when the child reaches the age of 17, more than Rs2.176 million will be provided for higher education expenses.
