Web Desk: More than 138,000 candidates have registered for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test MDCAT 2026, with the nationwide examination scheduled to take place on August 16, according to officials.

The entrance test for admission to medical and dental colleges will begin simultaneously across Pakistan at 10:00am, as authorities prepare examination centres in multiple regions.

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has assigned responsibility for conducting the examination to different medical universities across the country.

In Punjab, the University of Health Sciences Lahore will oversee the test arrangements, while Sukkur IBA University will manage the examination process in Sindh.

For Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the responsibility has been given to Khyber Medical University, whereas Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences Quetta will conduct the test in Balochistan.

Meanwhile, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University Islamabad will supervise MDCAT arrangements in Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The PMDC said an additional MDCAT examination centre will be established in Islamabad for students holding Balochistan domicile.

Bolan University of Medical Sciences will set up the additional facility in Islamabad, allowing candidates from Balochistan to appear for the test without travelling long distances.

According to the PMDC, regular-fee registration for MDCAT 2026 remained open until July 13.

Candidates who missed the regular registration deadline can submit applications with a late fee until July 18.

The council said the arrangements aim to facilitate students from across Pakistan and abroad by providing examination facilities in multiple locations.
