Web desk: Today, mainly hot and very humid conditions are expected to continue across most of the country’s plain areas, according to the latest Pakistan weather update.

However, isolated rain, wind, or thundershowers may occur in northeast Punjab, Islamabad, the Pothohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and nearby hilly areas may also see isolated heavy rainfall.

According to the synoptic situation, a seasonal low is present over north Balochistan. While moist currents from the Arabian Sea are moving into the upper parts of the country.

Yesterday, mainly hot and humid weather prevailed over most plains, though some areas in northeast Punjab, the Pothohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir experienced isolated rain, wind, or thundershowers.

Pakistan weather update: regional forecast

Following is the regional forecast for today, August 14, 2025.

Balochistan weather

Most parts of Balochistan are likely to remain hot and humid. Rain, wind, or thunderstorms may occur at isolated places in Zhob, Musakhel, Barkhan, Khuzdar, and Lasbella during the evening or night.

Sindh weather

Hot and very humid weather will persist across Sindh. Isolated rain is possible in Sukkur, Ghotki, Kashmore, Dadu, Tharparkar, Thatta, and Karachi.

Punjab weather

Most of Punjab will experience hot and very humid conditions. However, isolated rain, wind, or thundershowers are expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal and Sheikhupura. Additionally, in Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sargodha, Khushab, D.G. Khan, Multan, and Bahawalpur.

Murree weather on Independence Day

The weather in Murree, Pakistan today, Thursday, August 14, 2025, is 22°C with a feels-like temperature of 25°C. There is a 35 per cent chance of rain.

The wind is coming from the southwest at 4 mph. The high for today is 22°C and the low is 17°C, with light rain expected both during the day and night.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa weather

Plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will remain hot and very humid. Rain, wind, or thundershowers are likely in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur and Mohmand.

Additionally, in Kurram, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Peshawar, Kohat, Hangu, and Waziristan. Upper districts may experience isolated heavy rainfall.

Islamabad weather

Partly cloudy and humid weather with isolated rain, wind, or thundershowers is expected in Islamabad and surrounding areas, with the possibility of heavy falls.

Kashmir weather

Kashmir is likely to see partly cloudy weather with isolated rain, wind, or thundershowers. Some areas may experience heavy rainfall.

Gilgit-Baltistan weather

Partly cloudy weather with isolated rain, wind, or thundershowers is expected across Gilgit-Baltistan.

In the past 24 hours, hot and humid conditions dominated most regions.

Isolated rain or thundershowers occurred in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, and Kashmir.
