TRIPOLI: Khansa Mujahid, a well-known Libyan vlogger, social media influencer, and businesswoman in the beauty industry, was fatally shot by unidentified assailants on motorcycles in the capital, Tripoli. The shocking incident has sent waves of grief and shock through Libya’s social media community and wider public.

According to international news agencies, the attack occurred in the Al-Sarraj area of Tripoli while Mujahid was traveling in her car. Two or more armed men on a motorcycle opened indiscriminate fire on her vehicle. In an attempt to save herself, Mujahid tried to flee from the car, but the attackers pursued her and shot her multiple times at close range, killing her on the spot.
Eyewitnesses described the attack as sudden and rapid. After confirming her death, the assailants fled the scene immediately. Local police stated that the killers have not yet been identified, though shell casings collected from the scene have been sent to a forensic lab to assist with the investigation.
Authorities noted that the windows of Mujahid’s car were riddled with bullets, indicating she was targeted deliberately. Police investigations are ongoing, examining several possible motives, including political rivalry and a premeditated killing.
Mujahid was especially popular among Libyan women for her videos and vlogs related to fashion, makeup, and the beauty industry, amassing a large following on social media. She also owned beauty salons, women’s clothing outlets, and business centers. Additionally, she was the wife of Moaz Al-Manfoukh, a leader of Libya’s political party Zawiya, prompting authorities to consider political angles in the investigation.
Thousands of social media users expressed sorrow over her sudden death, demanding swift justice. Citizens have pointed out that the daylight killing of a prominent figure reflects a failure of security agencies and urged the government to apprehend those responsible as soon as possible.
Police and security agencies are treating the targeted killing seriously, but the exact motives behind the attack have not yet been confirmed. The incident has created an atmosphere of fear and concern in Tripoli and other cities.
