KP launches the revolutionary system to track medicines in hospitals

Web Desk:  The administration of Mardan Medical Complex has launched measures to improve patient services, focusing on uninterrupted medicine supplies and the rehabilitation of badly damaged roads inside the hospital premises.

Hospital authorities have formed a special committee to monitor the availability and distribution of medicines and oversee the supply process, according to information provided about the latest administrative measures.

The move is aimed at reducing disruptions in the availability of essential medicines and ensuring that patients receive treatment without facing avoidable difficulties.

The roads and pathways inside the hospital have remained in poor condition, creating additional difficulties for people accessing medical facilities.

The latest measures have also renewed scrutiny of healthcare management in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly claims made by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) about transforming the province’s health system.

Critics have questioned why problems such as medicine availability and deteriorating hospital infrastructure remained unresolved despite the party’s prolonged tenure in the province.

The issue has become particularly significant because Mardan Medical Complex serves as a major healthcare facility for the district and surrounding areas.

PTI governments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa promoted initiatives including the Sehat Card and repeatedly highlighted improvements in healthcare delivery. However, critics argue that persistent operational problems at major public hospitals exposed a gap between policy claims and conditions faced by patients.

They have also accused the former provincial administration of giving greater attention to political activity and protests than to resolving basic problems in public hospitals.

The new measures at Mardan Medical Complex are therefore being viewed as a step toward addressing basic patient needs, with medicine monitoring and infrastructure rehabilitation now moving into implementation.
