Islamabad security on high alert ahead of Friday protest

Islamabad March 5, 2026: Securty officals have placed the federal capital on high alert ahead of a protest rally scheduled for Friday, March 6, 2026, after Jummah prayers.


According to details, journalist Shaheyar Hassan stated that the rally is expected to start from G-6/2 Imambargah and proceed towards D-Chowk. Security arrangements have been tightened across key areas of the city in anticipation of the march.


Law enforcement agencies are expected to deploy heavy contingents around the Red Zone, G-6, Aabpara, and D-Chowk. Road closures and traffic diversions are likely to cause disruptions for commuters.


Sources further indicate that the placement of containers began on March 5 at around 2:00 pm on Fazal-e-Haq Road near G-6 Imambargah to control movement in sensitive areas.


Authorities have advised citizens to avoid the mentioned routes and plan alternate travel arrangements to prevent inconvenience.
