Iranian-born Indian actress Mandana Karimi, who rose to fame through Bigg Boss, has announced that she is leaving India and returning to Iran after spending 16 years in the country.
The actress said recent regional tensions and the war involving Iran, the United States, and Israel made it difficult for her to continue living in India. She revealed that her belongings are nearly packed and that she will soon depart for Iran.
In an emotional Instagram statement, Mandana claimed she faced social isolation after participating in a protest in Mumbai. According to her, several friends distanced themselves from her, leaving her under intense mental stress and making her feel that “India betrayed” her.
Responding to a question about leaving Mumbai, the actress shared an emotional video from the airport and said she never imagined she would have to say goodbye to India in such circumstances. She ended the clip with the words, “Goodbye India.”
Mandana Karimi added that although her 16 years in India had been a long and meaningful journey, recent events made it impossible for her to stay. She also stated that even people close to her failed to support her regarding the Iran-related controversy.
The actress described the last two months as the loneliest period of her life, saying that despite having many friends in Mumbai, no one stood by her during the sensitive situation. According to her, that feeling ultimately pushed her to move on and return home.
