Web Desk: U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Beijing on Wednesday for a state visit focused on trade and global security.
Chinese officials greeted Trump with a formal ceremony that featured a brass band and flag-waving crowds. Supporters chanted “welcome, welcome” as Trump landed in the Chinese capital.
Chinese Vice President Han Zheng received Trump on the tarmac alongside diplomats from both countries.
Trump will hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping over the next two days. Both leaders will discuss trade, geopolitical tensions, and global economic stability.
The U.S. delegation includes executives from major American companies. Representatives from Nvidia, Apple, Tesla, and Boeing joined the visit.
Tech billionaire Elon Musk also traveled with the delegation. Trump’s family members, including Eric Trump and Lara Trump, accompanied the group.
Trade issues will dominate the summit. Trump and Xi will discuss tariffs, market access, and supply chain stability. They will also address declining trade between the two countries.
In addition, the leaders plan to discuss tensions involving Iran and Taiwan. Security of international trade routes will also remain high on the agenda.
Business leaders hope the talks will improve commercial ties. Executives in aviation and agriculture expect possible new deals if relations improve.
Analysts say the summit could shape future relations between Washington and Beijing and influence global economic policies.
