Google has officially announced the launch of its new premium laptop category, Google Book, marking a major expansion in the company’s laptop segment.
According to the company, all five models will go on sale in the US on October 4. The devices feature the Material 3 Expressive interface, with Google’s Gemini artificial intelligence integrated as a core part of the operating system.
The Google Book desktop experience closely resembles Google Pixel phones, with Quick Settings, Wi-Fi and passwords automatically syncing with Android phones. The devices also include Android 17’s Continue On feature, Gemini’s Magic Pointer, and an advanced Linux environment for developers.
Google has introduced five different models in collaboration with major global technology companies.
Acer Google Book 14
The Acer Google Book 14 starts at $899. It is powered by Intel Core Ultra 5 or 7 (Panther Lake) processors and comes with 16GB RAM and more than 256GB of storage. The device features a 14-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen, fingerprint sensor and an aluminum body.
Dell XPS Google Book
The Dell XPS Google Book starts at $1,199 and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Ultra processor. It offers 16GB to 32GB RAM and more than 512GB of storage. The laptop features a 13.4-inch 2.5K touchscreen, an ultra-thin 12.7mm body and weighs just 1kg.
Asus Google Book 14
The Asus Google Book 14 starts at $1,299 and features an Intel Core Ultra 5 or 7 (Panther Lake) processor. It comes with 16GB to 32GB RAM and more than 256GB of storage. The device includes a 14-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen, haptic touchpad, fingerprint sensor, and an aluminum-magnesium body.
HP Google Book 14
The HP Google Book 14 also starts at $1,299. It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Ultra processor, 16GB to 32GB RAM and more than 256GB of storage. The laptop has a 14-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen, along with fingerprint security and face unlock (facial authentication).
Lenovo Google Book 15
The Lenovo Google Book 15 starts at $1,299 and is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 5 (Panther Lake) processor, paired with 16GB RAM and more than 256GB of storage. It features a larger 15.3-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen and a Dolby Atmos sound system, while its body uses carbon fiber.
According to Google, all the devices use a Level 5 security-certified hypervisor technology to protect the Linux environment and maintain security across the devices.
