Pakistan Crushes Khawarij Infiltration Bid, Destroys Afghan Taliban's Facilitating Border Posts

KURRAM: Pakistani security forces on Thursday destroyed Afghan Taliban military posts along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Kurram sector after foiling an infiltration attempt involving terrorists associated with Fitna al Khawarij.

The operation also resulted in the capture of an Afghan Taliban member alive, while several casualties were reported among those involved in the attempted infiltration,  security forces sources said.

According to the Pakistani security account, Afghan Taliban border posts attempted to facilitate the movement of a militant group identified as Fitna al-Khawarij (FAK), providing fire support to assist its infiltration into Pakistan.

However, alert Pakistani forces detected and thwarted the attempt before launching retaliatory strikes against the Afghan Taliban positions allegedly involved in facilitating the operation.

The strikes destroyed the identified border posts and inflicted multiple casualties, the update said, describing the action as a response to the attempted cross-border infiltration.

During the operation, Pakistani forces apprehended an Afghan Taliban member identified as Qari Waqas, alias Qudoos, son of Alam Gul, a resident of Spin Ghar. He was reportedly attempting to join an individual identified as Khawaji Kazim.

Security personnel also recovered a submachine gun (SMG) and ammunition from the arrested man, according to the update.

The incident underscores continuing security concerns along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, particularly allegations that Afghan Taliban positions are being used to facilitate the movement of armed groups into Pakistani territory.

Pakistan has repeatedly raised concerns over militant activity originating from Afghan soil and called on the Taliban authorities in Kabul to prevent armed groups from using Afghanistan as a base for cross-border attacks.

The latest operation sends a warning that Pakistani forces will respond to attempts to facilitate militant infiltration and the establishment of hostile military positions along the border, the security update said.

Meanwhile, Pakistani forces have continued their search operation in the area, with the hunt for other suspected infiltrators still underway.
