Web Desk: The Pakistan High Commission in London has announced special community outreach camps in Slough and Woking, offering consular services, identity document assistance and free legal guidance to Pakistani nationals living in the United Kingdom.
The initiative aims to make essential government services more accessible to overseas Pakistanis by reducing the need for residents to travel to central London for routine consular matters.
According to the High Commission, the camps are being organised under its Community Outreach Programme on the instructions of Pakistan’s High Commissioner, Dr Faisal.
The outreach initiative seeks to address the difficulties faced by Pakistani expatriates who must otherwise travel considerable distances to obtain official documentation and other consular services.
Through the programme, Pakistani nationals will be able to access selected services closer to their homes, saving travel time and reducing the inconvenience associated with visiting the High Commission’s main offices.
Moreover, the initiative is designed to improve access for families, elderly residents and people with mobility challenges.
The consular camp in Slough will provide a range of services related to Pakistan’s National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
These will include applications for new National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) and the renewal of existing cards.
In addition, officials will offer assistance with identity documentation and provide guidance on relevant NADRA procedures.
The camp will also facilitate selected consular matters, including powers of attorney, document attestation and assistance concerning records maintained by the Punjab Land Records Authority.
The services are intended to help overseas Pakistanis manage essential administrative and documentation requirements without making a separate journey to London.
Meanwhile, the outreach camp in Woking will combine consular assistance with complimentary legal consultations for members of the Pakistani community.
Qualified legal professionals will offer guidance on family disputes, property-related issues and other civil matters.
The free consultations are expected to benefit residents seeking preliminary legal advice on matters involving personal documentation, family arrangements or property interests.
Furthermore, the inclusion of legal assistance reflects the High Commission’s efforts to address practical concerns faced by Pakistani nationals living abroad.
The Pakistan High Commission has also announced special arrangements for senior citizens and people with disabilities attending the camps.
Officials will give these applicants priority to minimise waiting times and make the process more convenient.
The measure is aimed at ensuring that individuals who may find lengthy journeys or crowded service centres difficult can access consular assistance with fewer obstacles.
The High Commission has advised applicants that payments for consular services will be accepted exclusively through debit or credit cards.
Cash transactions will not be permitted at the outreach camps.
Therefore, visitors requiring fee-based services should bring a valid payment card to avoid difficulties during the application process.
Applicants should also carry the necessary identification and supporting documents relevant to the services they intend to obtain.
The announcement forms part of the Pakistan High Commission’s broader efforts to strengthen engagement with Pakistani communities across the United Kingdom.
By extending consular services beyond its central London premises, the mission aims to make official assistance more convenient and responsive to the needs of overseas nationals.
The camps in Slough and Woking will provide opportunities for community members to complete essential documentation procedures, seek administrative guidance and obtain legal advice closer to home.
The information released for this report did not specify the dates, operating hours or exact venues of the camps. Applicants should confirm those details with the Pakistan High Commission before travelling.
