The All Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance has announced a 5% reduction in goods transportation fares following a drop in petrol and diesel prices.

Alliance President Malik Shehzad Awan in a statement on Friday said the decision came after petroleum prices fell over the past four to five days.

He welcomed the government’s decision to reduce fuel prices and thanked the prime minister and federal petroleum minister for providing relief to the transport sector.

However, Awan called for further reductions in petrol and diesel prices to provide more relief to transporters.

The government has reduced petrol prices by Rs9.41 per litre to Rs352.59. Diesel prices have also been cut by Rs5.56 per litre to Rs382.25.
