Billions of messages are sent daily across various messaging apps, and most people accidentally send messages they did not intend to send.
Now, you receive a notification for a message, but when you open the app on your phone, it has already been deleted.
Generally, there is no way to recover messages that have been deleted.
However, if you use an Android phone, then yes, there is a hidden setting that allows you to read the text of a message even after it has been deleted.
This setting is called Notification History and, as the name suggests, it contains a history of notifications received on your phone, including texts, emails and chats from messaging apps.
Through this hidden feature on Android phones, you can find alerts received during the previous 24 hours in the Settings app.
Notification History also helps you identify which apps send notifications that you do not care about.
How to Use the Notification History Feature on Android Phones?
To use this feature, open Settings on your Android phone and select Notifications.
After that, click on Manage Notifications History and enable it.
If you are having difficulty finding Notification History, type “Notification History” in the Settings search bar.
Just remember that a deleted message notification remains in Notification History for up to 24 hours, after which it is permanently deleted.
Similarly, this feature only tracks notifications that you receive.
If you have muted notifications for a chat or app, then the messages will not appear in Notification History either.
Long messages also do not appear fully in Notification History; only a few lines of them can be viewed there.
