Web Desk: Saudi Arabia has declared September 23, 2026, a public holiday across the public and private sectors as the kingdom prepares to celebrate its 96th National Day.
The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced that employees in both government institutions and private-sector companies will receive a day off on Wednesday, September 23.
The holiday will coincide with 12 Rabi Al-Thani 1448 in the Islamic calendar, according to Arab media reports.
Authorities said the National Day holiday has been designated in accordance with Article 24 of the executive regulations of Saudi Arabia’s Labour Law.
As a result, eligible workers across both sectors will observe the official holiday on September 23.
Saudi Arabia celebrates its National Day every year on September 23, marking the occasion with nationwide festivities, cultural programmes and public events.
The annual celebration draws widespread participation across the kingdom as residents and citizens commemorate the country’s national identity and heritage.
