Web desk: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke by phone with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar, to review the state of bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international developments.
Pakistan–US relations: leaders stress trust, regional stability
According to the Foreign Office, both leaders described recent progress in Pakistan-US relations as positive and encouraging.
Dar restated that Pakistan was determined to enhance bilateral relations in various sectors whereas Rubio stressed that Washington was still serious in increasing the levels of cooperation.

During the conversation, the two sides highlighted the importance of enhancing collaboration in security, economic and trade matters, and regional stability.
Pakistan also appreciated the US efforts to help reduce tensions and promote peace in the region.
Secretary Rubio stressed the need to maintain an atmosphere of trust between the two countries and to launch people-centric initiatives that would improve relations at the public level.

Dar said Pakistan was ready to play a more active role in partnerships with the international community.
Both leaders agreed that the Pakistan–US relationship should not be confined to diplomatic exchanges or formal meetings.
Instead, they emphasised building practical cooperation, agreements, and joint initiatives that would ensure public benefit, economic growth, and regional stability for both nations.
