Pakistan to join US-Iran talks in Türkiye

Web desk: Pakistan will take part in the important talks between the United States and Iran being held in Türkiye. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the development.

The Foreign Office stated that Pakistan has received an official invitation to participate in the US Iran negotiations which are taking place in Istanbul. Islamabad has accepted the invitation.

Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said that the talks became possible through back channel efforts and Pakistan will participate in the process.

Sources said that Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar will represent Pakistan in the negotiations between the United States and Iran.

Meanwhile according to the news agency Reuters Saudi Arabia and Qatar will also participate in the talks along with Pakistan. Egypt Oman and the United Arab Emirates have also been invited.

Foreign media reported that discussions between the United States and Iran on nuclear matters will resume in Türkiye on Friday. The talks had remained stalled after the fifth round and were suspended in May 2023.
