Actress Momina Iqbal has formally submitted digital evidence to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) regarding a harassment complaint against Saqib Chadhar, a member of the Punjab Assembly from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Following the actress’s public appeal on social media, the agency has officially launched an inquiry.
According to details submitted to the NCCIA by the actress’s lawyer, the dispute is linked to a long-standing personal matter. Allegedly, in 2022, MPA Saqib Chadhar formally sent a marriage proposal to the actress, asking her to become his third wife. After learning about the lawmaker’s marital status, the actress reportedly ended all contact with him.
However, the alleged harassment campaign reportedly began after the actress announced her engagement to someone else.
The actress’s lawyer has handed over chat history, digital records, and alleged threatening messages to investigators.
Momina Iqbal recorded her statement before investigators for several hours, while MPA Saqib Chadhar also appeared before the NCCIA.
The NCCIA’s investigation team is currently reviewing the evidence. If the allegations of threats and cyber harassment are proven, the matter will be referred to police for criminal proceedings.
In statements shared on social media, Momina Iqbal had claimed that she and her family had been facing prolonged online harassment and death threats from a member of the ruling party.
The statement further alleged that due to the accused’s political influence, the FIA, Punjab Police, and NCCIA initially failed to act on her complaints. However, after the posts went viral on social media, authorities began taking action on the matter.
