Karachi: Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said that government’s measures have stabilized the economy. He emphsised, Pakistan’s decades-long fight against terrorism had come at a heavy cost, but the country had emerged diplomatically stronger and more stable.
Heavy Losses in Anti-Terror Campaign
Tarar said Pakistan had sacrificed more than 90,000 lives in its fight against terrorism and suffered billions of dollars in economic losses. Yet, he noted, security forces and civilians “defeated terrorism with resilience and resolve.”
Strong Response to Indian Aggression
He added that Pakistan delivered a “forceful and clear response” to Indian aggression in recent years. According to the minister, national leadership including the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Field Marshal played a critical role in shaping Pakistan’s narrative internationally.
Diplomatic Wins After Years of Setbacks
Tarar said Pakistan’s diplomacy strengthened significantly after the conflict years, crediting what he described as a more serious and coordinated approach. He pointed to major diplomatic achievements, including Pakistan’s hosting of an OIC conference after 14 years, which he said showcased the country’s restored credibility.
Foreign Policy Momentum and Economic Stability
The minister said Pakistan’s foreign policy was now “fully active,” and its narrative had gained broader acceptance globally. He added that recent government measures had helped stabilize the economy, reinforcing the country’s overall recovery.
Tarar said Pakistan would continue advancing diplomatic engagement as it consolidates security and economic reforms.
