WhatsApp is the world’s most popular messaging platform, with over 3 billion users.

Very soon, users will be able to see recent messages without opening a chat, and the blue ticks won’t show up either.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, this feature has been added to the new beta version of WhatsApp for Android devices.

The report states that WhatsApp is working on a contextual menu.

WhatsApp’s new feature will offer users multiple conveniences.

This menu will appear when you press and hold on a chat in WhatsApp’s home feed for a while.

Along with the usual controls, this menu will also have a preview card option, allowing you to view recent messages from the selected chat.

According to the report, this menu will have chat management shortcuts with multiple controls to manage chats, such as unread, pin chat, archive, and others.

Some other features like locking a chat, adding it to a list, checking chat info, and a home screen shortcut will also be available there.

One possible benefit of this feature is that even if a message is read in preview, the sender won’t see the blue tick.

In simple words, those messages won’t be marked as read, and the blue tick will only appear when the user actually opens the chat.

As mentioned above, this feature has appeared in the beta version, so it’s hard to say when it will be available to all users.
