Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has started deep cleaning the planes in its fleet to provide passengers with quality travel facilities.
PIA has launched special measures to further improve the cleanliness, cabin maintenance, and service standards of its aircraft.
PIA inspected the special cabin cleaning process of planes in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. The aim of this initiative is to keep the planes in top condition and offer passengers better travel services.
At this event, PIA CEO Adrian Hamilton Munz said that keeping the planes clean is really important and that it’s necessary to maintain the brand at the highest standard. Keeping the planes in top shape is our top priority.
He said this is the start of the process and pace through which PIA’s planes will be kept in the best condition.
PIA management expressed their commitment to continue taking steps to promote high standards of cleanliness, quality, and service within the organization.
Employees who played a key role in the cleaning process were rewarded with shields and certificates, while those who performed exceptionally well were also given cash prizes.
It’s worth noting that PIA’s deep cleaning campaign started at a time when the national airline had entered a new administrative phase following privatization.
Under the leadership of Arif Habib, a consortium of investors took over the administrative control of PIA in June 2026, after which steps have been taken to revive the airline, expand the fleet, improve service standards, and boost operational performance.
In November 2026, New Zealand-based aviation expert Adrian Hamilton Maunz assumed the role of PIA’s Chief Executive Officer. He has over three decades of experience in the global aviation industry and has previously headed three airlines, including Salam Air in Oman and FlyArystan in Kazakhstan.
The new management faces key challenges in restoring PIA’s reputation, gaining passengers’ trust, improving the condition of aircraft, and stabilizing the airline on a commercial basis.
