‘Pakistan’s support for Board of Peace is commendable’: US Secretary of State

Washington: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that the United States appreciates Pakistan’s support for joining the Gaza Board of Peace.


According to a spokesperson for the US State Department, Secretary Rubio met with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Washington, D.C. During the meeting, Secretary Rubio thanked Pakistan for supporting President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan and for participating as a founding member in the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace.


The spokesperson added that Marco Rubio also expressed condolences over the horrific attacks in Balochistan on January 31 and the devastating bombing in Islamabad on February 6. He reaffirmed the importance of continued partnership in the fight against terrorism.


The US Secretary of State also welcomed Pakistan’s participation in the recent ministerial meeting on critical minerals held in Washington. Discussions were held regarding the development of the critical minerals and energy sectors, as well as trade and investment opportunities for American companies.
