The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has officially notified the new prices of imported gas (RLNG) for September 2026, under which the prices of LNG have been significantly reduced by 20 to 22 percent (i.e. up to $3.91 per mmBtu).
According to a statement issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the price of LNG on the Sui Northern system has been reduced by $3.83 per mmBtu, after which the new price of LNG on the Sui Northern system has been fixed at $15.19 per mmBtu.
For SNGPL, the transmission price of RLNG has been reduced by 19.99% and the distribution price by 20.14%.
Similarly, the price of LNG on the Sui Southern system has been reduced by $3.91 per MMBTU to $14.22 per MMBTU, while the transmission price of RLNG for SSGCL has been recorded at 21.53 percent.
The regulator said the RLNG price revision for September has been made for a month, which will be applicable to imported gas supply and related consumer categories. The move will have a positive impact on the cost of gas companies and related sectors.
In Pakistan, LNG prices are directly linked to fuel prices in the international market and import costs. OGRA reviews LNG prices locally every month, taking into account fluctuations in fuel prices in the global market.
This significant reduction in LNG prices will not only lower production costs for the industrial sector but also help the CNG sector, fertilizer plants and power plants maintain balanced electricity.
