Web Desk: A number of universities and higher education institutions in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have announced online classes or temporary remote learning arrangements for students, according to an educational update issued on Thursday.
The update, dated Sept. 25, 2026, lists institutions that will move classes online for different periods, while advising students to contact their respective institutions for further details.
The update says the following institutions will conduct classes online until further instructions:
- HITEC Taxila
- COMSATS University Islamabad, including Wah and Attock campuses
- PMAS-Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi
- KMU Islamabad Campus
- Hamdard University Islamabad Campus
- University of Poonch Rawalakot (UOP) Jhelum Campus
- UET Taxila
- National Skills University Islamabad
The announcement does not specify an end date for these institutions and instead directs students to await further instructions.
Meanwhile, another group of institutions is scheduled to conduct classes online from Friday through Sunday, Sept. 25-27.
These include Air University Islamabad, Fazaia Medical College Islamabad and its Kamra campus, Bahria University campuses including BUHO, BUIC E-8, BUIC H-11 and BUHSCI Anchorage Islamabad, International Islamic University Islamabad, NUTECH Islamabad and Fatima Jinnah Women University Rawalpindi.
In addition, four institutions have been listed for online classes specifically on Friday, Sept. 25.
They are NUML Islamabad, Shifa Tameer-e-Millat Road and H-8 campuses, Watim Medical and Dental College Rawat, and the Federal Urdu University.
The update said no additional announcements had been made for other institutions in the Islamabad-Rawalpindi twin cities at the time of publication.
Students have been advised to contact their respective institutions for confirmation and further information regarding class schedules and arrangements.
