Web Desk: Tensions flared in Rawalakot after members of a banned group, Awami Action Committee, stormed the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), disrupting medical services and assaulting patients and security personnel, according to local sources and videos circulating online.
The footage, which has spread widely on social media, appears to show individuals entering the hospital premises and engaging in acts of violence and vandalism. Reuters could not independently verify the authenticity of the videos.
According to witnesses, several protesters forced their way into the CMH Rawalakot compound, triggering panic among patients, their families and medical staff. At the time of the incident, the hospital was treating local civilians as well as injured police and Federal Constabulary personnel.
Videos show scenes of chaos inside hospital corridors, where individuals allegedly confronted and manhandled patients receiving treatment. Medical staff reportedly struggled to maintain order as the unrest unfolded.
