The Punjab government has decided to monitor MDCAT 2026 examination centres through central CCTV cameras.

The move aims to improve security, transparency and monitoring during the medical entrance test.

A formal letter has been sent to the Punjab Safe Cities Authority. It seeks CCTV coverage and live access to cameras installed at examination centres across Punjab.

A special monitoring unit will also be set up to receive live camera feeds. The unit will monitor security arrangements throughout the examination.

The MDCAT 2026 examination will be held across Punjab on September 20, 2026.

Examination centres have been established in 15 cities across the province.

These include Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Gujrat, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Layyah, Bahawalnagar, Mianwali and Rahim Yar Khan.

The CCTV monitoring system is aimed at ensuring a fair and secure examination process for students appearing in MDCAT 2026.

Earlier the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC), on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has postponed the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026.

The PM&DC has changed the date of the MDCAT and announced that instead of August 16, the examination will now be held on September 20, 2026.

According to a statement issued by the PM&DC, the decision to change the MDCAT date was taken with the aim of making the conduct of the examination more organized, secure, transparent, and convenient for candidates.
