Web Desk: The Punjab government has introduced a rental subsidy of up to Rs25,000 for paddy farmers who use super seeders, as part of its efforts to promote cleaner farming practices and tackle air pollution.
Under the initiative launched through the Chief Minister’s Punjab Clean Air Programme, eligible farmers can receive Rs5,000 per acre for hiring a super seeder, with the total financial assistance capped at Rs25,000.
Farmers using super seeders for paddy cultivation will receive financial support based on the area covered.
The government will provide Rs5,000 for each acre, while an individual farmer can receive a maximum subsidy of Rs25,000.
The initiative is designed to encourage farmers to adopt agricultural machinery that can help reduce practices associated with crop-residue burning.
The rental subsidy is available to eligible paddy farmers in selected districts across Punjab.
The covered areas include Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Chiniot, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Multan, Lodhran, Khanewal, Vehari and Bahawalnagar.
Farmers outside the listed districts may not qualify under the current programme.
Eligible farmers can submit their applications online through the Punjab Agriculture Department.
Applicants should visit the department’s official website and follow the registration instructions for the super seeder rental subsidy.

Farmers should provide the required information during registration and complete the application process according to the department’s instructions.
The subsidy forms part of Punjab’s wider efforts to improve air quality by encouraging cleaner agricultural practices.
Super seeders allow farmers to manage crop residue while preparing fields for the next crop. By supporting the use of such machinery, the government aims to encourage alternatives to practices that contribute to air pollution.
The initiative is therefore intended to provide financial relief to farmers while supporting the province’s environmental objectives.
