Pakistan chased down the target with 243 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 47.1 overs.
Pakistan’s Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf have set a world record for the highest unbeaten 10th-wicket partnership in ODI cricket against England.
At Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the two players put together an unbeaten 89-run partnership to guide Pakistan to a thrilling one-wicket victory and secure a place in the final of the ODI tri-nation series.
Chasing England’s target of 243 runs, Pakistan had lost nine wickets for 154 runs when Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf produced a responsible batting display to turn the match around. Pakistan reached 243 for nine in 47.1 overs to complete the chase.
Previously, the record for the highest 10th-wicket partnership in a successful ODI run chase belonged to West Indies’ Deryck Murray and Andy Roberts, who had shared an unbeaten 64-run stand against Pakistan in 1975.
Before this, the record for an unbeaten century by a batter coming in at number eight was held by Ireland’s Simi Singh and Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who had each scored an unbeaten 100.
