A sharp increase in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices has added to the financial difficulties of citizens across Pakistan. LPG is being sold at Rs550 to Rs650 per kilogram in several cities, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar, while the price of a domestic gas cylinder has crossed Rs6,000.
According to sources, LPG prices in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have reached Rs570 to Rs580 per kilogram, forcing households to spend more on cooking gas.
In Lahore, LPG is being sold at Rs550 to Rs650 per kilogram. Residents are facing a double financial burden as they have to pay regular gas bills while also buying expensive LPG due to gas shortages.
In Quetta, LPG prices continue to rise. Gas is being sold at Rs550 to Rs600 per kilogram in central areas and Rs600 to Rs640 per kilogram in the outskirts. The rising prices of LPG and other essential items have increased household expenses.
Meanwhile, residents of Peshawar and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are facing difficulties due to increasing gas load-shedding.
In Mandi Bahauddin, rising LPG prices have also created problems for citizens, particularly daily-wage workers and low-income families, who are struggling to meet their basic needs.
The high cost of LPG, along with frequent gas shortages, has placed additional pressure on household budgets across the country, making daily life increasingly difficult for ordinary citizens.
