Web Desk: The BISP has outlined registration process for children seeking financial assistance under its Benazir Taleemi Wazaif programme.
The education stipend is aimed at supporting children from eligible BISP households and helping them remain enrolled in school.
To register a child, the mother must first qualify for the Benazir Kafaalat programme.
In addition, the child must have a valid B-Form issued by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
Families meeting these requirements can begin the registration process by visiting their nearest BISP tehsil office.
Parents or guardians should take the child to the nearest BISP tehsil office and provide the child’s B-Form along with the mobile phone number already registered in the BISP records.
After completing the initial registration, the BISP office will issue an enrolment slip.
The slip must then be taken to the child’s school for completion. School officials are required to enter details such as the child’s class and section, the class teacher’s name and the head teacher’s signature, along with other required information.
Once the school completes the enrolment slip, the family must submit it back to the relevant BISP tehsil office.
BISP will then complete the required verification process. Once the verification is successful, the child’s education stipend will be released.
However, registration alone is not enough to continue receiving the stipend.
The child must maintain at least 70% attendance at school to remain eligible for the education payments.
Therefore, parents should ensure that the child regularly attends school to avoid disruption in stipend payments.
If the child changes schools, parents should immediately inform the nearest BISP tehsil office.
Updating the record promptly can help ensure that the child’s educational information remains accurate and prevent potential issues with future stipend payments.
BISP has also stressed that all of its services are provided free of charge.
Therefore, applicants should not pay anyone for registration, verification or any other service related to the programme.
If anyone demands money at any stage of the process, applicants should immediately file a complaint with the relevant authorities.
