Update for medical students as MDCAT 2026 exam date

Web Desk: Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has announced that the nationwide MDCAT Test mandatory for admissions to medical and dental colleges, will be held simultaneously across the country on Aug 16.

In an official notification, the council said this year’s MDCAT syllabus will remain unchanged from the one issued last year, providing continuity for students preparing for the highly competitive examination.

Meanwhile, the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) will conduct its separate MDCAT examination for admissions to Army Medical College and affiliated Combined Military Hospital (CMH) institutions on Aug. 23, 2026, which falls on a Sunday.

According to the announcement, registration for the NUMS MDCAT began on May 18.

The PMDC advised aspiring medical and dental students to regularly monitor its official website for updated information regarding examination schedules, registration procedures and other admission-related guidelines.

The MDCAT serves as a key requirement for entry into public and private medical and dental institutions across Pakistan each year, attracting thousands of candidates nationwide.
