Web Desk: British immigration authorities and police carried out a joint operation outside the Pakistan High Commission in London, dismantling a protest camp established by supporters of the Joint Action Committee, according to witnesses.
During the operation, officials removed the Kashmir-related protest camp and conducted searches of several demonstrators present at the site. Authorities also reviewed the immigration status of individuals and carried out preliminary inquiries as part of the enforcement action.
Furthermore, police officers and immigration personnel questioned protesters and inspected documentation before clearing the area. The operation resulted in the complete removal of the protest camp, bringing the demonstration to an end.
The protest camp had been set up by supporters of the Joint Action Committee, a group that has led a series of demonstrations in Azad Kashmir over economic and governance-related issues.
The movement gained prominence in recent years through protests across several cities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, where participants demanded lower electricity tariffs, subsidized wheat prices and broader economic relief measures.
Supporters in the United Kingdom established the camp outside the Pakistan High Commission in London to express solidarity with the movement and draw international attention to developments in the region.
