PCB officials told the committee that the expansion of the Pakistan Super League from six to eight teams significantly boosted earnings, with profits increasing from around Rs2 billion to more than Rs7.54 billion. The tournament generated over Rs10.19 billion in total revenue, while expenses exceeded Rs2.64 billion.
Officials further stated that PCB earned nearly Rs2 billion from PSL 2025 and Rs2.46 billion from PSL 2024, with the addition of two new franchises contributing to a substantial rise in revenue.

The committee was informed that PCB received Rs8.808 billion in franchise fees during PSL 2026, while its share from the central revenue pool stood at over Rs1.29 billion. An additional Rs95 million was earned through other sources.
Sameer Ahmed also told lawmakers that three PCB board members are appointed by the Prime Minister, while the PCB chairman selects the remaining 11 members. He noted that Pakistan currently has 16 cricket associations and that changes to board representation would require federal cabinet approval.
Discussing infrastructure, Ahmed said constructing a modern cricket stadium costs between Rs12 billion and Rs14 billion, while the renovation of Karachi Cricket Stadium is expected to cost around Rs5 billion.
