Web desk: The third and decisive One Day International (ODI) between Pakistan and the West Indies will be played this evening.
The three-match series is currently tied 1–1, with Pakistan winning the first ODI and the West Indies taking the second. The deciding game will begin at 6:30 pm Pakistan time.
Statistics show that Pakistan has won 10 ODI series against the West Indies over the past 31 years.
Meanwhile, changes are expected in the national squad for the Asia Cup and the upcoming triangular series.
According to a cricket website, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will soon announce the team for the tri-series against Afghanistan and the UAE, as well as for the Asia Cup 2025.
Sources say fast bowler Salman Mirza and all-rounder Ahmed Daniyal are likely to return for the tri-series in the UAE.
At the same time, senior pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf may be rested as part of workload management, ensuring their participation in the Asia Cup.
This time, the squad is expected to include 16 players instead of 15, with final decisions to be made in consultation with head coach Mike Hesson and the captain.
Opener Fakhar Zaman is also likely to be named for both the tri-series and the Asia Cup; he is currently absent from the West Indies tour due to injury.
However, all-rounder and T20 vice-captain Shadab Khan is still undergoing rehabilitation following surgery and is expected to miss both tournaments.
The triangular series will be played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium from August 29 to September 7, with Pakistan opening their campaign against Afghanistan on August 29 at 7 pm local time.
