Unprecedented tourists rush in Naran leaves rooms scarce, visitors forced into expensive, substandard tin Shelters

An extraordinary influx of tourists in Naran has left hotels and guest houses fully occupied, causing significant difficulties for newly arriving visitors seeking accommodation.

According to reports circulating on social media, tourist numbers in Naran have surged to unusually high levels in recent days. As a result, all hotels and guest houses are fully booked, making it difficult for incoming tourists to secure a place to stay.

One tourist said that after a lengthy search, they managed to find a room consisting of a tin shed (temporary shelter), for which they paid Rs5,000 in rent. The shelter was initially being offered for Rs8,000.

The tourist further stated that the blankets provided were insufficient for the cold weather, while the lack of basic facilities—particularly washrooms—made the situation even more challenging.

In view of the situation, tourists advised others to avoid traveling to Naran under the current circumstances. They suggested choosing Kashmir, Murree, or other tourist destinations with comparatively better facilities if planning a trip.

They also noted that the Babusar Top Road remains closed and warned that anyone still wishing to travel should do so at their own risk.
