Web Desk: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan invited applications today from Pakistani students for the Moroccan Government Scholarships Program for the 2026–27 academic year.
This educational exchange allows selected individuals to study at public higher education, technical, and vocational institutions across Morocco. The Kingdom of Morocco has allocated 10 scholarships for this cycle, spanning Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD level degrees. However, interested students must move quickly because the deadline on the HEC portal falls on June 10, 2026.
To establish eligibility, applicants must hold Pakistani or AJK nationality and maintain permanent residency in their home regions. Conversely, the program bars dual nationality holders from applying. For undergraduate entries, candidates must have completed their Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or an equivalent qualification. Master’s candidates need a relevant Bachelor’s degree, while doctoral hopefuls must possess a qualifying Master’s degree.
Furthermore, the HEC mandates test scores for all applicants. Undergraduate hopefuls must provide a valid Undergraduate Studies Admission Test (USAT) score, whereas postgraduate and doctoral candidates must show a valid Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT) score. Since public institutions in Morocco use French as the primary language of instruction, selected scholars who lack language proficiency must take preparatory French courses upon arrival. Meanwhile, specific programs like Islamic Studies and Arabic Language utilize Arabic.
The scholarship opens doors to diverse public programs, yet the HEC urges candidates to scrutinize all financial terms, tuition structures, living allowances, and travel provisions before submission. Additionally, applicants must independently verify that their chosen professional fields, such as Medicine, Engineering, Nursing, Architecture, Law, or Veterinary Medicine, align with Pakistani accreditation guidelines. Consequently, students should check with the relevant professional councils in Pakistan to avoid future equivalence issues.
To navigate the application procedure, candidates must log onto the digital HEC scholarship portal to build or refresh their personal profile. After populating their records, students can open the “Learning Opportunities Abroad” tab on the main dashboard, select the Moroccan Government Scholarships option, and complete the form.
The commission advises applicants to organize their personal documents, including academic transcripts, CNIC, passport details, domicile registries, and active USAT or HAT certificates beforehand. Although the HEC does not require physical paper copies during the initial online screening, nominated candidates must provide original files for definitive verification later.
