Web desk: The federal government has announced financial assistance of PKR 2 million per person for the families of those who lost their lives in the floods.

Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar clarified that no compensation will be provided for damages caused by the collapse of illegal constructions. He warned that it would not be possible to compensate people living in water channels.

The Flood Forecasting Division recorded extremely high flow at Chiniot Bridge on the Chenab River, while inflows at Ravi Siphon and Shahdara remained dangerously high.

Authorities opened Rawal Dam spillways to control water. Colleges in flood-affected areas of Lahore Division were closed.
