Web Desk: Pakistan said a final text of a proposed peace agreement has been reached and that discussions have entered a critical stage, while Iran urged media outlets and observers to avoid speculation until the deal receives formal approval.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan remains actively engaged in mediation efforts and is working with both sides to finalize the next steps toward implementing the agreement.
In a post on X, Sharif said a coordinated misinformation campaign was attempting to undermine the peace process. However, he said negotiators had already agreed on the final text of the deal.
“Peace has never been this close as it is now,” Sharif said.
Sharif said Pakistan had played an active role in facilitating dialogue between the parties and was now coordinating closely with both sides to move the process forward.
He added that the agreed text represented a significant breakthrough after intensive negotiations.
The prime minister’s remarks signaled growing optimism that the agreement could soon advance to its final procedural stages.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called for restraint and urged the public to avoid speculation regarding the contents of the proposed agreement.
In a message posted on X, Araghchi said the process had entered its final stages. However, he stressed that officials were still refining details before granting final approval.
He said media organizations and other sources should refrain from speculating about the contents of the agreement until authorities formally complete and approve it.
According to Araghchi, premature reporting could create confusion and contribute to the spread of inaccurate information.
The Iranian foreign minister said the government and relevant institutions were following a responsible and transparent process.
He added that officials would disclose the full details of the agreement at the appropriate time and provide a formal briefing once the final document receives approval.
Although observers view the development as a significant diplomatic breakthrough, Iranian officials emphasized that no conclusions should be drawn until a formal announcement is made.
For now, both Pakistan and Iran have indicated that negotiations have reached an advanced stage, while stressing that key procedural steps remain before the agreement can officially take effect.
