A club cricketer in Britain ran for more than 100 kilometres to deliver a ball in an attempt to set a world record.
The cricketer, Sam Bodvano, started running from Lord’s Stadium in London and delivered the ball after reaching Surrey. The 22-year-old completed a distance of more than 62 miles in 14 hours and six minutes.
The cricketer delivered the ball on August 30 and held it in his hand for more than 14 hours in an effort to have the feat included in the Guinness World Records. During the run, he also remained dressed in a full white cricket uniform and completed a cricket match after delivering the first ball.
Sam Bodvano bowled the ball to his father, who played it towards cover but did not score a run.
Sam Bodvano said he had been playing cricket since the age of seven and found it very difficult to keep hold of the ball during the run.
The purpose of the run was not only to set a world record but also to raise more than £6,000 for a charity.
The Guinness World Record for this achievement is currently held by a person who ran 15 miles before delivering a ball in August 2024.
