Authorities issue travel advisory for Islamabad commuters

⏱ 1 minute read

Web Desk: Islamabad authorities issued advisory on traffic disruptions on major highways as VIP movements take place between the Red Zone and the Old Airport over the following days.

Officials said the temporary restrictions are linked to the arrival and departure of foreign delegations. As a result traffic flow on key arteries may slow during designated time windows.

According to the traffic police VIP convoys will move on Feb 4 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Further movements are planned on Feb 5 between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and on Feb 6 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

During these periods authorities may briefly halt or divert regular traffic to ensure security and smooth passage.

Meanwhile traffic officials urged residents to plan their journeys in advance and use alternate routes where possible. They also advised commuters to allow extra travel time to avoid delays.

Police said updates would be shared through official channels if schedules change or if additional restrictions are imposed.
